Walt Disney World includes a number of locations where cast bronze plaques and memorial walls are incorporated into the overall décor and experience of the park. For years, visitors have been putting their imprint on this internationally known sight.

The Magic Kingdom is the first location you’ll discover cast bronze plaques since it’s where they initially appeared. They may be seen all across the park, greeting visitors and serving as a reminder of the wonderful individuals who established the parks. As you go through the tunnels of the Main Street railway station on your way into the park, you’ll come across a well-known sign that says, “Here you leave today and join the realm of yesterday, tomorrow, and imagination.” It’s a nice way to start the day.

The most well-known memorial plaques in all of Disney World may be seen at the foot of the renowned statue of Walt Disney clutching Mickey Mouse’s hand, which is located in the Magic Kingdom.

Cast bronze plaques are also used to welcome guests into each land of the Magic Kingdom, including Main Street, Adventureland, Frontierland, Liberty Square Fantasyland, and Tomorrowland. Main Street, Adventureland, Frontierland, Liberty Square Fantasyland, and Tomorrowland are all represented by cast bronze plaques. Additionally, when you enter Magic Kingdom, you’ll see a special form of memorial plaques. There are tiles with dedications on them on the floor below, whether in remembrance of a loved one or to memorialize a family that often visits the parks, so that they may pay a visit to the stone that paves their path to the Magic Kingdom whenever they choose.

An initiative named “Leave a Legacy” was established in EPCOT to accomplish the same goal. You will notice as you approach the park that there are stone pillars stacked high with memorial plaques, many of which have photos of individuals engraved into them, as well as little sayings next to each one. Someone may leave a legacy that would be visible in the parks for many years to come in this manner. It’s incredible to imagine that dozens of years from now, someone’s children may go up to a memorial plaque that their mother and father had placed at EPCOT and see their parents’ photos set in stone for all time.

Disney World makes extensive use of plaques to remember others, as well as to assist tourists and thoroughly immerse them in the history of the parks and their surroundings. When you come across them, it is well worth your time to stop and admire them since they enhance the overall attractiveness of the area.
